One of the problems with repetition is that it allows you to beat up your muscles to exhaustion without achieving the results you want to see in the mirror. I know, I spent years doing standard ab exercises and I still hated my side view – it looked like “THE BLOB”. Sound familiar?
What I eventually figured out after studying the anatomy is that if you do ab exercises to exhaustion without lengthening the psoas muscle and stimulating the end-terminal fibers in addition to the middle fibers (behind your belly), you will bulk-up your psoas and cause your belly to bulge, hence the blob effect.
There is a way to train that incorporates psoas-lengthening into every move, so all of your effort is laser-focused on sculpting the long, lean side view you want to see in the mirror. The day I started applying my brain, anatomy, and biomechanics to my workouts is the day I started actually changing the shape of my body.
Try this 60-second side-sculpting challenge instead of your usual ab workout on alternate days and watch the transformation of your side-selfies.
